The Roland Atelier Festival celebrated the talent and dedication of some of the nation’s best amateur organ players, and filled the audience with inspiration during a packed weekend of performances and clinics in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year, the Atelier Festival was held as part of a major new event for home organ enthusiasts, Roland AT Playtime, held Oct. 10-12 at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino on the famed Vegas Strip. In addition to the Atelier Festival, Roland AT Playtime presented three nights of concerts by internationally celebrated performers and days filled with educational workshops. Dennis Houlihan, former president of Roland Corporation U.S., served as master of ceremonies.
The Roland Atelier Festival, which dates back to 2008, grew out of a partnership between Roland and its nationwide network of Atelier dealers. It gives organists throughout the U.S. a unique and much-anticipated opportunity to celebrate the hobby of organ playing, build lasting friendships, showcase their skills and share their enthusiasm with others.
National finalists were chosen from the winners of local competitions held in dealers’ showrooms. These finalists received an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas to compete in the national finals, as well as free admission to all Roland AT Playtime concerts, workshops, banquets and special events.
