POLL RESULTS: Does your social media get results?

Our latest poll asked whether your company’s social media activity was reaping rewards and helping business or something of a mystery?

Even if you are completely au fait with Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest et al, and love doing it, do you measure and monitor its effectiveness? And, most crucially of all does it get results for your business in the form of increased profile and ultimately, sales? Of course, you maybe also have no idea about social media and feel it doesn’t really matter for your particular business.

Only ten per cent of our survey felt their social media achieved results for their company while 30 per cent felt it wasn’t. Perhaps indicative of the knowledge gap when it comes to measuring digital media, some 40 per cent simply didn’t know whether their social media was effective or not. And that, as the survey bears out, is the case with a lot of social media activity. For a lot of people it’s a thing they feel obliged to do because well, everyone does. But they struggle to see the point of it.

As for the 20 per cent who had no idea about social media or that you can attach any strategy to it, they may well be thriving in spite of it.
