Trade Regrets: Yoshinori Kimbara

Christian Wissmuller • Trade Regrets • September 8, 2015

On Sunday, September 6, NAMM’s Dan Del Fiorentino got in touch with the following sad news:

Yoshinori Kimbara passed away peacefully last Thursday in Japan having served the music industry his entire adult life. He was a former Yamaha Japan Corporation executive who worked under Genichi Kawakami beginning in the 1950s.  He was the first general manager of the Yamaha Music Foundation, which was created to strengthen music education in Japan.  Kimbara-san was associated with recreational music-making programs, which have since become an important segment within the music products industry and music education programs around the world.
