On November 12th, we received the following message from NAMM’s Dan Del Fiorentino, alerting us to the passing of industy icon Ken Ingram on November 7th:
Ken Ingram passed away on Saturday at the age of 87. Ken, also known as Kenny, worked for the Selmer Musical Instrument Company from l952 – 1974 rising to the position of VP of Sales. In l974, he was promoted to Sr. Vice President of Marketing of the Magnavox Company where he served for six years. He returned to the music industry as President of Gemeinhardt Flutes and later as President of Boosey & Hawkes in New York City. He moved to LaGrange to become President of the Southern Ambulance Company and retired from Southern in l990. We caught up with Ken in Georgia back in 2011 after a number of dealers and former co-workers suggested we interview him.
