Korg and Lionsgate Host ‘La La Land’ Contest

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • May 10, 2017

Korg and Lionsgate (maker of the film “La La Land”) teamed up to host a “City of Stars” cover contest last month.

The winner, Easha Nandyala of New Jersey, went home with a brand new Korg Kronos performance synthesizer keyboard and a “La La Land” movie poster signed by the cast and crew.

“With all the great music from the film, we decided to partner further with Lionsgate and offer a Korg Kronos, our flagship keyboard and the same board Ryan Gosling’s character uses throughout the movie,” says Tom Cusimano, senior manager of artist relations at Korg USA. “It made perfect sense to have aspiring artists cover the Oscar-winning song ‘City of Stars.’ There were a lot of amazing and inspiring entries and we were proud to be a part of the experience.”

Participants were encouraged to add their own twists to the tune, and Nandyala’s version included a violinist and pianist from her high school.
