Flor de Toloache Joins the D’Addario Artist Family

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • May 25, 2017

Flor de Toloache has joined the D’Addario artist family. The band, formed in 2008, are Latin Grammy nominees and made New York City history as the city’s first and only all-women mariachi group.

In addition to joining the company’s artist family, the band also provided input in the product development of mariachi strings for the guitarron and the vihuela. The band also performed for the entire fretted factory during their last visit to the D’Addario headquarters this month.

“Flor de Toloache’s visit to our office and factory was a fun and exciting experience for the whole company,” said Steve Mucciolo, fretted product specialist. “They put on an intimate performance right on our production floor for our entire staff – which was a huge hit! In our product development breakout sessions, we had a blast testing numerous iterations of the various samples we had prepared. Their detailed feedback and passion for Mariachi music has certainly been influential in guiding our Mariachi string development.”
