D’Addario is incredibly thankful to have their Promark drumstick factory back up and running after enduring the might of Hurricane Harvey.
While its world-class employees continue to work through the extensive water damage to their Houston homes and property, D’Addario has been funding additional relief efforts for those who have suffered from the storms, along with by partnering with other music companies for additional support.
D’Addario will be donating their musical accessories products to a relief effort being held at the Sam Ash store located in Houston on Saturday, September 30. The Sam Ash Houston Hurricane Harvey Musician’s Relief will feature a free restringing and clean-up service to anyone who comes in with a guitar that was damaged in the floods.
“Just a few short months ago, when we opened our first store in this city, the Houston musical community welcomed us with open arms, and it’s that enthusiasm for musical instruments that has inspired us to be in this business for over 90 years,” Sam Ash says, COO of Sam Ash Music. “When the storm first hit, we put out donation boxes in each of our 45 stores throughout the country, and we were able to raise over $30,000 for the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey disaster Relief. Putting on this event is a true honor, as we stand with the people and musicians of Houston through this difficult time.”
To support the Sam Ash relief, D’Addario is supplying their world-renowned acoustic and electric guitar strings, classical guitar strings, bajo sexto strings, bajo quinto strings, and violin strings. And with the Promark drumstick factory being tied so closely to Hurricane Harvey, the D’Addario Foundation will also be donating pairs of classic Promark drumsticks.
