Deering Banjo Company Partners with ArtistWorks

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • December 14, 2017

Deering Banjo Company and ArtistWorks have partnered up to make learning the banjo easier with their “Banjo Player’s Pathway.”

Visitors to deeringbanjos.com/pathway will have free access to numerous video lessons hosted by acclaimed banjo teacher Tony Trischka. These video lessons have been made exclusively for the Banjo Player’s Pathway platform by ArtistWorks. The videos are designed to take the typical beginner and intermediate 5 string banjo player through specific pain points for the aspiring banjo player and inspire them to continue their journey with the banjo.

“I’m thrilled, to say the least, that two of my favorite outfits, Deering Banjos and ArtistWorks, are joining forces to bring the joy of the banjo to more and more people,” says Trischka. “Having just filmed a batch of custom new lessons at ArtistWorks, I’m excited that Deering will be presenting them as the first step on the pathway to learning banjo.”

Each free video lesson will cover a specific topic that often unhinges many novice banjo players, and will give them a link for more in depth information and personal feedback from Tony Trischka on artistworks.com. Deering is committed to banjo education whether it be through their blog Hooks & Nuts, their work with Bluegrass In the Schools, or free workshops and lessons provided at festivals.

“We’re very excited to launch our first online educational partnership with a brand like Deering,” says John Graves of Artistworks. “We have tremendous respect for the quality and heritage of Deering products, and know that ArtistWorks world-class online instruction will unlock doors for banjo players everywhere.”

“We have recommended ArtistWorks to hundreds of players over the years, who have seen great results from their extremely effective take on online instruction,” adds Jamie Latty of Deering Banjos. “We are thrilled to be working together to create a series of high quality educational material that really focuses on the foundations of banjo playing. And of course who better than Tony Trischka? We look forward to hearing from players as they begin their banjo journey!”
