D’Addario-Endorsed Groups Win Big at the 2018 WGI

Many D’Addario-endorsed groups won big at the 2018 Winter Guard International (WGI) Championships, winning six medals and announcing six artists joining the roster. 

The 2018 WGI Championships for percussion took place at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio from April 19 to 21, 2018. This week-long event attracts hundreds of groups and 10,000 performers that compete to take the top honors in their class.

D’Addario Percussion was fortunate to have winning groups in four classes: Percussion Independent World Medals, Percussion Scholastic Open, Percussion Scholastic World, and Percussion Independent A.

The winners were as follows:

Percussion Independent World Medals

GOLD: RCC (Promark/Evans/Accessories)

SILVER: Rhythm X (Evans/Accessories)

BRONZE: Broken City (Evans/Accessories)

Percussion Scholastic Open:

GOLD: Clear Brook High School (Promark)

Percussion Scholastic World:

BRONZE: Arcadia High School (Promark/Evans/Accessories)

Percussion Independent A:

BRONZE: FIU Indoor Percussion (Evans)

 

On Friday April 20, 2018, with the help of The Gridbook Series’ Mark Perrett as Press Secretary and Wright State University Department of Theater, D’Addario Percussion welcomed six new Promark endorsees:

 Michael McIntoshTim FairbanksTim JacksonAndrew MarkworthKevin Shah, and Tony Nuñez.

These six new artists join a team of the finest artists and educators in the industry and will help build excitement around the upcoming D’Addario Percussion product launches in the B&O market.   

D’Addario Percussion in collaboration with The Gridbook Series will continue to announce new products and innovations confirming that Evans and Promark are the leaders in the marching percussion space.
