Yamaha Appoints Winston as Guitar Product Specialist

Yamaha Corporation of America has announced that Andrew Winston has been appointed to the position of product specialist for Yamaha Guitars.

Winston will be responsible for conducting regular store inventories to help identify sales opportunities, educating dealers about new products and sales methods and serving as an intermediary between Yamaha and retail personnel. He will report to Armando Vega, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars.

“Andy’s extensive experience in music sales and connections with retailers will be valuable assets to Yamaha,” said Vega. “His passion and knowledge of guitars are contagious and I know that our dealers will enjoy working with him.”

Previous to Yamaha, Winston worked at Samson Technologies as Western States sales and product specialist. There he managed dealer relationships and sold Samson, Hartke and Hotone audio products to more than 200 independent music retailers, as well as many Guitar Center and Sam Ash Music outlets. He also oversaw the region’s  artist clinic program and dealer training initiatives. Additional experience includes retail and managerial roles at various music instrument stores throughout Southern California, in cluding Jim’s Music Center in Tustin and West L.A. Music in Los Angeles.

He studied business administration and management at Mt. San Antonio

College in Walnut, California.
