Smith & Dulka Promoted to VPs at Hal Leonard

Christian Wissmuller • People • January 11, 2017

Hal Leonard has announced the promotions of two long-term employees: Brad Smith and Trish Dulka.

Brad Smith has been promoted to vice president – Musical Instrument Products (MI). Smith joined Hal Leonard in 1993 and has worked primarily as the main contact for developing custom products for musical instrument manufacturers. Since 2009, Smith has led the rapidly growing MI Products division that markets and distributes third-party produced musical gear, software, gifts and accessories. By utilizing the Hal Leonard veteran sales staff and its strong marketing and fulfillment services, this division has grown to be a leading source for the MI industry who look for brand name products from one source. Smith also serves on the executive board of the Percussion Marketing Council (PMC) and will serve as president of the Guitar and Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA) starting in 2017.

Trish Dulka has been promoted to vice president – Communications/Advertising. Dulka started at Hal Leonard in 1989 as an advertising coordinator and became advertising manager in 1999. Dulka is responsible for overseeing all PR and Advertising for Hal Leonard, including the company’s website, social media, trade shows, catalogs, print advertising, and other marketing activities. She works closely with the heads of all the Hal Leonard departments to make sure the world knows about the over 220,000 titles the company sells. Dulka will also be overseeing an expanded push into digital marketing for the company.

Hal Leonard president Larry Morton says, “Brad and Trish have been an important part of our management team for years. We’re happy to promote them to expanded roles to help lead Hal Leonard further into the MI world and digital marketing frontier.”
