Boulder Creek Guitars Names Hurwitz VP

Boulder Creek Guitars, Inc. has named Michael Hurwitz as vice president of Worldwide Sales. Hurwitz will oversee the sales of domestic U.S. dealers and international distributors.

“Michael is a true professional,” says Mike Replogle, Boulder Creek Guitars COO. “I’ve worked with him for over 15 years and have alway been impressed with his ability to generate positive results and great relationships – I’m truly excited to be working closely with him again at this great company”.

Hurwitz’s background includes his most recent positions as director of sales for Aphex, LLC and national sales manager for Earthworks Microphones.  He also has a rich history as a performing and recording musician, recording engineer, producer and educator. 

Boulder Creek Guitars president and CEO Jeff Strametz remarked, “We are thrilled to have Michael join us at this pivotal time in our history.  As we prepare for enormous growth, Michael’s long history of building relationships and growing companies is huge for us.  His compatible work ethic and ideas are a great contribution as I lead my company forward.”

According to 2005 data, the fretted instrument segment accounted for $1.4 billion in global musical instrument sales. Americans purchased 3.4 million guitars. Overall, Americans were responsible for 42.7 percent of global musical instrument sales making them the largest consumers. Japan was second at 15.6 percent.
