New Training School for Guitar Techs and Luthiers

MMR • Supplier Scene • November 4, 2015

“We’re proud to announce the launch of Guitar Services Workshop,” says Nashville luthier John LeVan.

“Our workshops are designed to help guitarists start a new career by providing hands-on training from industry experts, extensive learning materials, and the necessary tools to launch a guitar-repair business. Our goal is to change the instrument repair industry by providing comprehensive instruction for aspiring guitar technicians and luthiers.”

Registration is now open for our February 6, 2016 workshop in Nashville, and all skill levels are welcome.

“Students will benefit from experienced guest instructors—including professional road technicians—who work in the guitar repair industry,” says LeVan. “Workshop attendees will learn how to be a road tech, and acquire the business, entrepreneurial, and customer-service skills necessary to run a guitar repair shop. We’re excited to be working with such manufacturers and distributors as Taylor Guitars, D’Addario and Planet Waves, Stewart-MacDonald, and EMD Music. Together we’ll give our students the best education and opportunities for a career in the field of guitar repair.”
