At this year’s Sound Off! at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop), Korg USA sponsored the 21-and-under battle of the bands by donating both monologue and minilogue synthesizers as part of the grand prize packages.
The tournament has been running for the past 16 years and has helped to launch the careers of artists like members of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. A winner and runner-up were chosen on March 11 after three rounds of semifinals.
Nick Kwas, lead product specialist of Korg USA, attended the event to answer questions while attendees tried out different Korg gear.
“Korg USA’s sponsorship of this event is another step in ensuring we are getting inspiring gear into the hands of future music makers and artists,” said Kyle Taylor, the North West district sales manager for Korg USA. “MoPoP has created a special event that gives young musicians a great platform to showcase their talents, and Korg USA is proud to be a part of it.”
