Korg Donates to D’Addario’s Instrument Drive

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • November 20, 2017

Korg EDU donated Lag acoustic guitars, a Korg N5EX synthesizerm, and more to D’Addario’s first ever instrument drive earlier this month.

The collection accepted used gear to donate to Hungry for Music, a non-profit organization designed to provide students in need a chance to have their own musical instrument.

Todd Rundgren’s Spirit of Harmony Foundation, Instruments in the Cloud, and Lyft also contributed to the cause.

“The ability to build a network of influencers who are passionate about our mission is key to providing as many children as possible with access to a better life through music education,” said Suzanne D’Addario Brouder, executive director of the D’Addario Foundation. “Our partner programs are bridging the gap in our education system and helping to deliver what all students deserve – a well-rounded education that includes the arts. These programs make kids want to come to school, stay in school and graduate on time.”

Over 93 instruments were donated to the drive.

“It was our pleasure to donate and help volunteer at D’addario’s drive,” said Tiffany Stalker, senior manager of the Education Division at Korg USA. “Taking into consideration the time of year and the opportunity to give, we want to do what we can as a music company to keep music a top priority for students, especially those from families that cannot afford instruments. We look forward to donating and supporting the effort again next year.”
