D’Addario Partners with Guitar Center for International Women’s Day

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • March 3, 2018

D’Addario has partnered with Guitar Center for International Women’s Day. On March 8th, when musicians purchase any D’Addario product at Guitar Center or Guitarcenter.com and the D’Addario Foundation will donate 50 percent of every sale to support music education for girls.

Proceeds from this day will go directly to the Music Education for Girls Initiative, a special fund established within the D’Addario Foundation that provides girls with advanced learning opportunities, scholarships, and transformative musical experiences that foster both personal and professional growth. This support not only serves to motivate girls to continue participating in existing programs, but to nurture them along their educational journey.

“Music is a universally powerful tool for self-expression,” says Suzanne D’Addario Brouder, executive director of the D’Addario Foundation. “The D’Addario Foundation hopes to encourage and nurture more female musicians. It is our goal to help promote more music created by women, and foster new opportunities that enable more young women to thrive in the music business. We believe the support we’re able to provide young female musicians from this unique partnership with Guitar Center on International Women’s Day has the power to advance gender equality both inside and outside our industry.”
