Korg Brings Brew Music Campaign to SXSW

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • April 16, 2018

Since November 2016, Korg has hosted five Brew Music events in cities across the United States, and this year, the company took the music campaign to Austin, Texas at South By Southwest (SXSW).

Brew Music, a campaign that connects musicians and beer enthusiasts alike, has taken over breweries in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago and most recently, at Zilker Brewing Company in Austin, Texas. This event aligned with SXSW, with Korg contributing gear to multiple music shows in the area, including a Grandstage to UtopiaFest, SV1’s to the Brooklyn Bowl Family Reunion show hosted by Relix Magazine, and a prologue for their artist lounge.

Featuring the new prologue and volca mixes, Switched On, Austin’s favorite boutique music shop, also supplied some vintage gear for Brew Music, including the M1 keyboard and MonoPoly. This event also featured German synthesizer brand Waldorf, who proudly displayed their popular KB37 Eurorack, Rocket, their hybrid synth line and Pulse 2, their paraphonic analog synths. Waldorf Music is the most recent addition to Korg USA’s growing family of brands.

“Brew Music offers musicians the chance to learn the product firsthand in a laid-back setting,” says Morgan Walker, senior manager of communications at Korg USA. “Not only was Zilker Brewing the perfect spot for one of these events, but Switched On proved to be a great partner. We’re excited to see where the next one brings us.”
