Yamaha Genos Digital Workstation Keyboard Wins Red Dot Award: Product Design

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • May 4, 2018

Yamaha Corporation of America recently announced that the Yamaha Genos received this year’s Red Dot Award: Product Design.

Genos earned the prestigious German design award from a field of 6,300 submissions from 59 countries and regions around the world. A 39-member jury evaluated the entries and only awarded products with the highest design quality. After selection for the 2018 iF Gold Award, this is the second major design award bestowed upon Genos.

Divided into three categories—product design, communication design and design concept—the award receives more than 17,000 submissions each year.

“Every curve of Genos is designed to allow for the musician to concentrate on delivering their performance, while maintaining a connection with their audience,” said Ben Harrison, marketing manager, Digital Pianos, Yamaha Corporation of America. “From the back, audiences will admire the dynamic design of Genos; from the front, the performer sees an inviting and reliable place for creating music.”
