Bill Lawrence was known for his pick-up design and his long career as a German based guitarist. For over forty years, Bill published numerous articles on the subject of guitar design.  He was granted numerous patents, and worked with some of the most respected companies in the guitar industry, including Framus, Gibson, and Fender.  He passed away on November 2, 2013.

Located at Yamaha’s headquarters, the Atelier serves the artist and education community with a venue for designing, creating, testing, servicing and restoring band and orchestral instruments.

Korg USA Expands Sales Force in Canada

Korg USA has expanded its sales force to be able to provide the same premium service to Canadian retailers as it does in the U.S. market. Joining existing West Coast sales representative Martin Richmond will be Jeff Bard, who will cover Quebec and Maritimes, and Glen Booth, who will cover Ontario.

Mark Cabaniss has been appointed managing director of this new division which is based in Nashville. Alfred Sacred also includes the H.W. Gray choral catalog and Jubilate Music. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of Shawn Lane, Vigier recently announced the limited edition Excalibur Shawn Lane Signature in Paradise White. Production is limited to 10 guitars for the public.

This virtuoso guitarist inspired a cult following in the United States, so much so that his signature model is now one of Vigier’s most popular export models. This guitar incorporates all the features of the Excalibur Shawn Lane Signature, including a slightly shorter scale of 630mm, a flat fingerboard that allows the lowest possible action across the board, and a guaranteed 0.7 mm on the 12th fret of the High E with 1 mm on the Low E. Features unique to this collectors piece are its Paradise White colour, a matching pickguard, white pickup bobbins, and white control knobs and switches.
