KHS Promotes Hankes to School Music Business Unit Manager

Christian Wissmuller • People • May 28, 2015

KHS America has announced the promotion of Christopher Hankes to the position of school music business unit manager. In this newly created position, Hankes will lead the U.S. marketing and product team for Jupiter winds, XO professional brass, Altus and Azumi flutes, Majestic percussion, and Mapex marching drums.

Hankes joined the KHS family in 2006 as percussion product manager and has been the driving force behind the emergence of Mapex marching drums and Majestic percussion. Hankes previously enjoyed a long tenure in school music sales with Schmitt Music Centers, and maintained an active career as an educator, performer and clinician.

“We are extremely proud of Chris and the work he’s done,” states Mike Robinson, vice president of Marketing for KHS America. “His promotion to School Music Business Unit Manager is certainly the result of his skill and know-how, but more importantly it’s a reflection of his leadership qualities and deep commitment to the KHS America team and our core values.  Anyone who knows Chris won’t be surprised by this promotion and I’m sure we all share the confidence that Chris will manage his new responsibilities with diligence and integrity.”
