Yamaha b Series Acoustic and ‘Silent’ Upright Pianos

hoff • Keyboards • June 17, 2013

Yamaha’s b Series Upright Pianos are designed to be the most affordable instruments in Yamaha’s acoustic piano line. Following on the design that has been a favorite in Japanese and European households for years, the recently launched Continental style model b1 provides maximum performance, incorporating exceptional craftsmanship, space-conscious design and high-quality sound at a wallet-friendly price.

Available in both traditional acoustic and “Silent” models, the Series offers a sturdy contemporary design that features back posts for added strength, while the specially designed soundboard and high-grade hammers endow the b1 with an unrivalled richness and sound depth for a 43” piano. Seasoned specifically for the U.S. market, the b2 and b3 feature a solid spruce soundboard like the top-of-the-line Yamaha uprights. Yamaha reinforces the crown of its soundboard to ensure that the tone quality will remain consistent for years. The entry level model b1 features a laminated soundboard designed for optimal tone prediction while reducing the risk of soundboard cracking. Available in an elegant polished ebony finish, the b1 upright carries an MSRP of $4,499 (b1), $5,999 (b2), $7,499 (b3).
