Barnes and Mullins site backs trad offering

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • June 23, 2015

UK distributor and manufacturer Barnes & Mullins has created a new website specifically for its still burgeoning traditional instrument offering.

While the firm currently enjoys success with a wide range of modern instrument brands, the company was built on its traditional product line-up, having been formed by two banjo players and continues to sell a huge array of banjos, ukuleles and mandolins as well as acoustic guitars.

The new website: www.BMtraditional.com offers information about the current range of banjos, mandolins and ukuleles and includes a Google Maps powered dealer locator and instrument registration service for customers.

“We’re pleased to have this new resource for those searching for B&M traditional instruments,” said B&M associate director of marketing, Alex Mew. “Mr Barnes and Mr Mullins started their entire musical and business careers working with Banjos and what we today call ‘traditional Instruments’. Their heritage and legacy from the late 19th century is rich with information and inspiration from which we can draw. Original B&M instruments from the early 1900s are sought after pieces, with collectors and antique dealers enquiring as to their instrument’s history on a regular basis. Using this knowledge and experience, we have breathed new life into classic models such as the B&M Perfect Banjo range, as well as using antique finds as inspiration in creating a range of new instruments too. Now, musicians will be able to discover the range of B&M instruments more easily thanks to this online resource.”

Barnes & Mullins banjos, mandolins and ukuleles are available through Barnes & Mullins in the UK and Ireland, and in Australia through Musical Merchandisers.
