MIA fixes awards and conference dates

UK trade body, the Music Industires Association has announced details of its annual conference and awards.

The MIA Business Conference 2015 will take place at the British Library Conference Centre on Wednesday 7th October 2015. The event is open to everyone in the music making industry – retailers, distributors, publishers, wholesalers, manufacturers. It is free to MIA members but non-MIA members will need to pay £50 to attend.

Meanwhile, the MIA Music Awards will take place at the Hilton London Metropole on Thursday 12th November 2015.

Instrument manufacturers and retailers will be able to nominate themselves. The winners of the majority of the categories will be decided by online public or retailer vote through the MIA Music Awards website www.miamusicawards.com or its various media partners. The remaining categories will be judged by a panel. Final Shortlists for the public and retailer voted categories will be announced on 9th October and the winners for all categories will be announced at the ceremony.

The awards will be hosted by comedian and writer Simon Evans. Tables are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and an early booking discount is available if booked/paid for before Friday 23 October.
