The news that Spanish guitar specialist Manuel Rodriguez is bringing back at least some of its production to its homeland, prompted us to ask whether the days of Chinese dominance of production are ending?

With costs rising and some manufacturers wanting tighter control over quality standards, China is no longer the automatic choice in manufacturing, despite its dominance over the last 20 years. Limited and in some cases, large scale production is returning to Europe and the US. But can it ever really be considered a cost-effective option again.
