Tascam launches two home recording starter packs

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • October 29, 2015

Tascam has launched two new entry-level home recording bundles –  the Trackpack 4×4 and Trackpack 2×2.

The 4×4 package comes with a US-4×4 audio interface, two TM-80 microphones and two sets of TH-02 headphones. They can be used to capture a single instrument in stereo, or a single instrument with vocals simultaneously.

The USB-powered US-4×4 audio interface also features four XLR/TRS (mic/line) analogue inputs with phantom power and Ultra-HDDA mic preamps boasting -125dBu EIN rating. The US-4×4 can be used with dynamic microphones as well as condenser mics.

Tascam’s TH-02 headphones have a closed design for sound isolation and can be easily stored or transported by being folded into the headband.

Included in the bundle are codes for Cakewalk Sonar X3 LE and Ableton Live Lite 9 DAW software.

The 2×2 package, meanwhile, comes with a US-2×2 USB audio interface, a TM-80 studio condenser microphone with shockmount, TH-02 headphones and Cakewalk Sonar X3 LE and Ableton Live Lite 9 DAW software.

Powered via USB for Windows users, the US-2×2 features two XLR/TRS (mic/line) analogue inputs with phantom power, allowing input of condenser mics and connection of synthesizers and other equipment. Guitars can be directly connected enabling the use of third-party plug-in effects. It is also compatible with iOS products, such as iPad and iPhone.

As with the Trackpack 4×4, codes for Cakewalk Sonar X3 LE and Ableton Live Lite 9 DAW software are included.

The Trackpack bundles are available in the UK now,  priced at £299 for the 4×4 and £219 for the 2×2.
