Christian Wissmuller • MMR Global • March 23, 2017

NAMM Musikmesse Russia, the international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, the international fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation, will welcome visitors to Moscow’s Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, September 14th to 17th, 2017.

Now in its sixth year, the show attracts Russian and international manufacturers and distributors to present the latest in musical instruments, products, and pro lighting and audio technologies to a crowd of industry specialists and consumers.

Since making its debut in 2012, over 400 companies from 28 countries have demonstrated their products and services to more than 60,000 unique visitors. In the past five years, NAMM Musikmesse Russia and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia has become a key platform for the Russian market to create business opportunities and to share experiences between industry professionals from various countries, while experiencing continued visitor growth representing all sectors of the industry.

The 2017 NAMM Musikmesse Russia show will offer several new features and areas as part of the reimagined floorplan, including a reorganization of the pavillions into similar product groups  known as “brand worlds.” These spaces will showcase similar products and distributors in key locations and will include brand world guitars; brand world keyboards, for piano, synthesizers and other keyboard instruments; and DJ brand world, for manufacturers of DJ equipment and DJ schools to demonstrate their products and services at the show.

Along with the new areas, the show will also launch a new pavillion, Pavilion Classique. Visitors to this area will be able to enjoy and evaluate acoustic musical instruments and accessories in a quiet environment. The area will also feature an open space with musical instruments and teachers to welcome and provide musicial instruction to younger guests.

Several attendee favorite events will return to this year’s show, including The Grand Band Show, a special joint project from the Russian Ministry of Culture, Moscow State University and NAMM Musikmesse Russia, among many others. Last year, over 450 Russian and international attendees participated in the outdoor orchestral and band fest, and set a record for its performance.

Alongside The Grand Band Show, CHOIREXPO, a guided choir assembly, and Drummers United, a dedicated pavilion for percussionist will also return. CHOIREXPO will offer choral educational sessions, master classes, seminars and lectures by leading Russian and European specialists alongside well-known choirmasters from Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Latvia. The Drummers United pavilion will celebrate its second year at the show, and will feature leading companies and manufacturers offering a full range programming, including performances, presentations, master classes and demonstrations of products and area drum schools.

In addition to the numerous brand worlds and pavillions, NAMM Musikmesse Russia will offer a variety of concert and entertainment programming which will include performances of popular musicians, workshops and master classes, autograph sessions of local and international artists, musical competitions and much more. Activities for teachers and other music education specialists will be offered as part of the business program of the show.

At Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, entertainment technology professionals will find a plethora of opportunity to network and learn. Located in pavilion 4 and 4.2 of the Sokolniki centre, the show will feature an open-air platform that will consist of different line arrays and acoustic systems demonstrating the capabilities of concert sound equipment. Confirmed participating companies include Stagemarket, Serapid, LTM, Clay Paky, Robe, SiM, MixArt, OKNO-Audio, Tüchler, Sundrax, Dealercenter, as well as other top manufacturers and distributors of leading brands.

New for 2017, Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia’s business program will present B2B tours around the fair for industry specialists. Exhibitors will organize seminars, workshops and presentations for professional sound engineers, theatre workers, managers of rental companies and many more.  Industry experts will also be onsite to conduct seminars in branding and  business development.  As part of this, the Theatre Forum will again return to Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia. This popular forum will again showcase novelties in theatrical equipment, technologies, materials and props for stage.

An impressive number of specialist organizations and state institutions have returned to again support the fair: MF-group and EuroShow companies are technical partners and KudaGO.com, a new generation online event calendar, will serve as the shows’ general promotion partner.

Additional details of show events and programming will be available in the near future. In the interim, please visit the official fair websites to register for additional information or to secure a ticket to attend.
