New limited edition from Furch

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • July 13, 2017

Furch Guitars has introduced a new limited edition 2017-LP acoustic guitar.

The new model is an all-solid wood six-string guitar made from premium tonewoods designed to create an exotic appearance and a balanced sound.

The top is made from high-grade Alpine spruce, while the back and sides are made from padauk, an exotic wood from Africa. The design of the top plate and the way it is tuned is the result of “dozens of years of ongoing research and development”, according to the firm.  The body as well as the fingerboard and the headstock are adorned by koa binding with a white contrasting line. The rosette is also made from koa, and Furch has also used the Hawaiian wood for the fingerboard inlays, which have an unconventional rectangular shape.

The side markers are made from genuine mother of pearl. The fingerboard, the bridge, and the headstock overlay incorporate another exotic wood – ziricote. For tuning, the guitar is fitted with Gotoh tuners that feature an antique silver finish and ebony buttons.

Like all other Furch models in the 2017 range, the Furch Limited 2017-LP sports the Furch CNR System, designed to provides high rigidity, stability, and durability of the guitar neck, which increases lifespan and offers better transmission of sound.

The Furch Limited 2017-LP is produced in a limited series of 90 guitars in the D, G, S, and OM body shapes without cutaway.
