New Masquerader from resurgent Shergold

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • September 21, 2017

Shergold Guitars has announced the release of its new SM04SD Masquerader electric guitar.

In line with the three introductory Masquerader models, the SM04SD has been designed by British luthier Patrick James Eggle, but is the first to feature a solid Mahogany neck and Macassan Ebony fingerboard. Also unique is the double humbucker configuration with a USA Seymour Duncan ’59 in the neck and TB-4 in the bridge.

The SM04SD is exclusively available in a Thru-Black gloss finish with a black, genuine Bakelite scratchplate. In keeping with all current Masquerader models, it offers inlaid aluminium lined fret and side markers, a custom PJE-designed Shergold T-bridge and staggered, locking machineheads.

With the initial SM01SD (Humbucker/P90), SM02SD (Humbucker/Single/Single) and SM03SD (Single/Single/Single) Masqueraders already on sale, the new SM04 has been designed to further strengthen the series by offering yet more tonal options. The SM04’s double-humbucker configuration results in a “hot” tone designed to appeal to guitarists seeking a full-bodied, responsive and powerful sound.

The Shergold SM04SD Masquerader is available in stores now for £799 RRP.
