High Tech Add to Growing Fuzzrocious Line-Up

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • November 22, 2018
High Tech Distribution has added a new tone pedal to its Fizzrocious range of effects.
The Fuzzrocious Grey Stache is based upon the GGG-tuned and Civil War versions of a muff fuzz, creating one guitar and bass-friendly pedal.

The tone stack features the ability to scoop mids to allow a heavy, deep sound, flatten the mids for an even-keeled sound, or boost the mids for a more modern sound that allows one to punch through in the mix and drive speakers well. If you dial back the sustain, it can achieve more of an overdrive sound.

The Grey Stache is also available with additional, optional mods (including the new Octave Jawn) such as Diode Mod – via a toggle, the user can switch between three diode clipping choices to find the type of clipping she/he wants (clipping is the signal distorting). There is also the choice of two sets of the following diodes to accompany the “no diodes” setting (middle toggle position) – 1n914 silicon, LED, 1n4001 silicon and germanium.

Other mods include the Oscillation Mod, whcih can feed the signal back upon itself for oscillation/feedback/noise; Tone Bypass Mod, which bypasses the tone and mids pots for a more open, less compressed sound; Killswitch Mod, which mutes the sound passing through the pedaland can be used rhythmically to a tempo or sporadically; 2nd Sustain Mod, which can switch back and forth between two sustain pots, like having two sustain presets and using a footswitch to move back and forth between the two and, lastly the Octave Jawn Mod – a polyphonic, digital, fast-tracking octaver.  Featuring two extra knobs, one mixes the clean and octaved signal and the other does full octave down at counterclockwise, full octave up at clockwise and a mix of octave down and up at noon.
