Teenage Engineering has launched the OP–Z, which it claims is the first stand-alone 16-track sequencer to synchronise live composition of music, visuals and lights.
The OP-Z is small and lightweight and dispenses with a screen, leaving users to connect up to their own screen on an iPhone, iPad or computer.
Packed with multiple synthesiser engines, beats, samples, effects, visuals and preset patterns, the OP-Z also has the ability to control up to 16 lights through DMX, it has Unity 3d integration to let users interact with their own ‘3D worlds’, as well a built-in photomatic feature which allows them to sequence images taken with those from a smartphone camera.
It also has an expansion slot for modules to add a range of hardware upgrades. The first module will be launched later this year. Also available as an optional extra is a leather carrying case.
The OP-Z begins shipping mid-October 2018 priced at RRP £529.
