Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • April 3, 2019

D’Addario Woodwinds Artists Mark Nuccio and Steven Banks have both been appointed faculty positions for the upcoming Fall 2019 semester at two reputable universities.

Mark Nuccio, principal clarinetist of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, will join the Northwestern University, Bienen School of Music as a lecturer of clarinet beginning Fall 2019. Nuccio will be working alongside Steven Cohen, associate professor and coordinator of the winds and percussion program, and Leslie Grimm, senior lecturer, and wind chamber music coordinator.

When asked about the opportunity, Nuccio said “This is an opportunity to pay it forward in the tradition of Robert Marcellus. I am excited for the new challenge!”

The Ithaca College School of Music has appointed D’Addario Artist Steven Banks as the assistant professor of Saxophone beginning August 2019. Banks has served as the assistant professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio.

Banks says, “It is a privilege to build on the rich history and pedagogical foundations of teachers like Steven Mauk and Donald Sinta, who started the program.”
