Korg recently assisted local artist Omar Jones for his latest project “In Plain Sight” at The Block Party in Brooklyn.

At the event, Korg provided an opportunity for attendees to demo gear and contributed a variety of synthesizers for the exclusive gear tent.

The event was livestreamed on the official Korg Twitter channel, providing an additional outlet for people to experience the exclusive block party.

“This event turned out amazingly well,” said Morgan Walker, senior manager for Korg USA Marketing Communications Dept. “Everyone who came brought a really great vibe to the event. It was inspiring to see an entire community come together and share their music.”

The first block party took place on June 24, and when Jones was asked to host another one in September, he was eager to get Korg involved.

“I wanted to provide my community with a glimpse into beatmaking and producing, as well as give local artists the chance to perform with established acts,” said Jones. “I had an idea to involve Korg to give artists an opportunity to try out gear they otherwise had no access to prior. The response has been overwhelming and I’m excited to see what the next one will bring.”
