KORG USA, Inc. Advocates for Music Education in the Nation’s Capital

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • June 11, 2019

Joe Castronovo, president of KORG USA Inc., and Tiffany Stalker, senior manager of Education, joined more than 100 music industry leaders, professional musicians and music education activists in Washington DC, to meet with national policy makers on the importance of music education programs in schools.

In addition, nearly 60 NAMM members provided one-on-one demonstrations on drums, guitars and ukuleles to students, as well as any needed maintenance to local school’s musical instruments.

“Having the opportunity to represent our industry in this critical movement is a privilege and something that I look forward to every year. Making sure that music and arts is a part of every child’s education is imperative to their growth and development and the NAMM Foundation has created excellent resources for anyone to advocate in their schools,” says Stalker.

Castronovo and Stalker also participated in advocacy training, during which the group was briefed on current issues facing public school music programs.
