Mom’s Music Hosts ‘Dat Ta Da Drum Day’

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • May 13, 2019

On Saturday, May 11, Mom’s Music in Louisville celebrated International Drum Month with “Dat Ta Da Drum Day.” The event included many local drummers who are and have been a part of the music scene in Louisville, Kentucky. Dave Beck, who worked in Mom’s drum department from 1984 through 1990, hosted the event.

Folks of all ages were in attendance, including  90-year-old John Roy, who performed and previously taught drums to many local drummers, such as Marvin Maxwell (owner of Mom’s Music) and his son Max Maxwell. Mom’s was also honored to have 18-year-old Michael Davis perform; Davis has been a student at Mom’s for five years and is an inspiration for many, as he has extreme vision loss.
