Moogfest has unveiled the full event schedule for this year’s four-day festival.
The festivities for the 2017 event include over 300 musical performances, daytime workshops, conversations, masterclasses, film screenings, live scores, durational sound installations, and interactive art experiences.
Moogfest 2017 will be held May 18-21 in downtown Durham, North Carolina to celebrate the legacy of Bob Moog, the engineer who pioneered the analog synthesizer and other technology used by music legends like Stevie Wonder and David Bowie.
The 2017 event schedule boasts appearances from artists like Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, Suzanne Ciana, and Gotye, as well as scientists Dr. Kate Shaw, an experimental particle physicist working on the ATLAS Experiment, and Joe Davis, a pioneer in creating art with genes and bacteria at MIT Media Lab.
As always, workshops and activities are widely varied, from Laraaji’s workshop on laughter meditation, to building your own light theremin or square-wave oscillator. Pharmakon, NEW INC, DJ K-HAND and S1 Synth Library, among many others, will also being hosting activities over the course of the four-day celebration
