New ‘Print Music Source’ Offers Digital Downloads and Printed Products

Print Music Source, a new printed music publisher based in San Antonio, Texas opened its virtual doors on July 20, 2013. The company founded by print music industry veteran, Bob Dingley is built around some out-of-the-box thinking and challenges many industry paradigms. Print Music Source brings forth a modified approach to the traditional journey between publisher and consumer, keeping in mind the age-old axiom “you can always eliminate the middle-man, but you can never eliminate the middle-man’s function.” The music store provides the link to the local consumer and as such can provide a significant service by taking the product awareness and visibility to their local consumer, assisting in the marketing journey.

Print Music Source’s approach to product distribution and the development of distribution channels embraces a system that has been in place for decades but modifies the approach to provide the consumer with instantaneous product availability combined with options that support the consumers role in securing music to fulfill their musical needs.

All Print Music Source’ products are available in either digital form, where the consumer may download and print the product themselves for their own use, or as printed product, where pre-printed hard goods are physically shipped to the consumer. Separate pricing structures are in place to support the two delivery options. Music stores/dealers may purchase Print Music Source printed hard goods at pre-established margins. The traditional new-issue subscription has been eliminated. Dealers may take part in a buy-in program if they wish to stock and promote the products. Dealers also have the option of joining the Print Music Source Affiliate Program to refer consumers to the Print Music Source website to purchase product in digital form. As an Affiliate, the dealer will qualify for a sales commission from Print Music Source for referring the sale.
