D’Addario Acquires Two Nearby Buildings and Continues Sustainability Efforts Towards LEED Certification

Christian Wissmuller • Upfront • August 22, 2018

D’Addario has announced the purchase of two adjacent industrial buildings next to their headquarters at 595 Smith Street in Farmingdale, Long Island.

The company’s plan is to merge the two recently purchased buildings, yielding 37,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. Scheduled to be completed by September 2019, the new facility will be the future home of Evans Drumheads

Sustainability is a huge initiative that D’Addario has strived to accomplish for years. The new building(s) will be energy efficient and will pursue LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Certification. New energy efficient lighting, as well as heating and cooling systems, will be installed, in addition to plans to divert building waste away from landfill sites to recycling and recovery centers.

Tom Stack, RA, LEED AP, Director of Global Design, Planning & Construction says: “Following our commitment of Corporate Social Responsibility, pursuing LEED gets us a step closer to hitting our goals.”

To speak to Tom Stack and to learn more about how D’Addario is committed to sustainability and LEED please contact matt.budd@daddario.com to arrange.
