With the assistance of the State University of New York at Potsdam and The Crane School of Music, ZOOM North America held a special alumni event at their corporate headquarters in Hauppauge, New York on Thursday, October 4th.
Hosted by ZOOM CEO and SUNY Alum (Class of ’79) Scott Goodman, nearly 100 friends, family members, classmates, and music industry dignitaries attended the celebration. In addition to food, drinks and a healthy dose of nostalgia, guests were treated to a live jazz performance by Crane School of Music alums Larry Ham (’82), Tom Melito (’78), and Pat O’Leary (’81).
A highlight of the evening was SUNY President Dr. Kristen Esterberg’s Distinguished Alumnus presentation to Scott Goodman, honoring his years of support to SUNY Potsdam, and specifically The Crane School of Music.
In addition to President Esterberg, notable attendees included Dean of the Crane School of Music Dr. Michael Sitton, Executive Director of the Crane Institute for Music Business and Entrepreneurship Marc Ernesti, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Jim Petercsak, D’Addario Foundation Chairman John D’Addario Jr., and alumni representing ZOOM North America, Yamaha, Guitar Center, Roland, D’Addario & Company, and Steinway & Sons.
