The text above is a reprint of the Editorial from MMR’s January, 1927 issue:

“Many people freely predicted that the past year would be an ‘off’ year… Those who do work and those who do not, will be rewarded for their 1927 efforts in exactly the same degree of recompense as warranted by the intelligence of their efforts.”

Swap out “1927” with “2021,” throughout the entire page-long missive,  and many – really, most – of the points made by former editor Mr. Henderson 94 years ago still ring true today. Good business sense, adaptability, market awareness, and perseverance were keys to success in MI retail then and remain essential today. Some truths are evergreen.
