Korg takes on new UK-built cajon brand

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • July 27, 2015

Korg UK has taken on distribution of Ruach Music; (pronounced Rew-ah) a range of handmade Cajons produced in Northern Ireland.

Beginning as a prototype in a garage in October 2011, Ruach is now being produced in a fully operational, eco-friendly workshop, selling globally. To minimise the company’s carbon footprint, hard wax oil is used to finish the instruments, the workshop is powered by solar energy and for every Cajon sold, a tree is planted.

The firm added to its initial cajons, developing a snare and kick mechanism to extend the range of sounds they can create.

Rob Castle, Korg MD said: “We are delighted to welcome the Ruach brand to the Korg UK portfolio. Stephens’s story is an inspiring one and we are happy to be working with him. He started making products at the age of 16 and has gone on to receive a number of business awards including IOD Young Director of the Year. The range is simple and the product is innovative.”

Ruach Music’s company director Stephen Henderson, added: “We are really proud to have been chosen to partner with Korg UK to distribute our products in the UK/ROI. Korg are a company and brand I have admired for many years, and to be working together is something that excites not only me but the entire Ruach team. I look forward to growing and developing our brand and bringing future products to the UK/ROI market through our partnership with Korg”

Ruach is available to pre-order from Korg now, shipping early September. Contact your local area sales manager for information.
