Nearly three years after launching the British Drum Co., their Marching Division has welcomed World Pipe Band Drumming Champions Scott Currie and Tyler Fry to its roster of marching artists.

Scott Currie has enjoyed a 30 year career as a bass and tenor drummer with highlights that include 4 times World Pipe Band Champion, 11 times World Drum Corps Champion, 74 RSPBA Grade 1 major championship wins and 47 Drums Corps titles.

Tyler Fry possesses an equally impressive pedigree as winner of all solo tenor drumming titles including Canadian, United States and North American Championships. Tyler’s six times World Champion titles include one World Pipe Band Championship, two World Drum Corps Championships and three World Bass Section Championships. He is also well recognized as a member of the world famous Red Hot Chili Pipers!

Scott and Tyler are in good company at British Drum Co. alongside International Marching Specialist, Jim Kilpatrick MBE – 16 times World Solo Drumming Champion.

Commenting on Currie’s and Fry’s appointment, marching division manager Warmington said, “I’m absolutely honoured to be able to add Scott and Tyler to the ever-growing family of pipe band artists. The experience they bring to the bass and tenor range is truly second to none. It’s a very exciting time for the British Drum Co. Marching Division and adding Scott and Tyler to the team only shows the dedication and direction we are heading in. I look forward to working with them in the coming months.”

Currie adds, “I’m thrilled to join the British Drum Company at this exciting time for the company and pipe band percussion. It is my privilege to be with Jim Kilpatrick MBE and the rest of the Marching Division’s world champion roster for the launch of Axial snare drum and magnificent pipe band bass and tenor drums made in Britain by Keith Keough and his remarkable team. We’re both obsessed with achieving the purest possible bass and tenor drum sound, something I know these phenomenal instruments will deliver on the field time and time again.”

Fry said, “I’m thoroughly honored to join Stu Warmington’s Marching Division and the roster of amazing drummers and percussionists at British Drum Co. This is THE most exciting time to be a pipe band drummer and the British Drum Co. have all the tools and people to bring everything in our game to the next level and beyond. The new Axial snare, bass and tenor drums not only look and sound amazing, every innovative feature serves a functional purpose resulting in the most technologically advanced instruments that I have ever played.”

Keough added, “I am delighted to welcome Scott and Tyler to the British Drum Co. Our Marching Division family has suddenly got a little bigger and I can’t wait to see and hear what the guys will achieve with our drums.”
