Bauer Named VP of Sales for Keyboard Concepts

Christian Wissmuller • People • June 8, 2020

Jeff Bauer, manager for Keyboard Concepts in Santa Monica, has been appointed Vice President of Sales by Dennis Hagerty, Founder and President. Bauer will augment current Vice President Jeff Falgien’s sales management role until he leaves the company in approximately six months, then will work in tandem with another future addition who will handle operations.

Bauer started with music at a young age, first on saxophone in his elementary school orchestra, and then with various music programs through his grade school years. During that formative time, playing the piano and composing piano became his focus. He eventually went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts at the University of California Santa Barbara in music composition.

Before graduating UCSB in 1996, Bauer worked part-time at Michael’s Music, a local piano store in Santa Barbara, under the tutelage of owner Michael Farley, salespeople. and piano technicians. It didn’t take long for Bauer to realize he had a talent for helping people discover the joy of all things piano.

“Since joining the Keyboard Concepts family in 1997, Jeff Bauer has become an integral part of our goal of providing top-quality new and used pianos to our varied and highly distinguished clientele,” Hagerty said.

Keyboard Concepts began in 1983, when Hagerty and Falgien opened their first store, eventually becoming a four outlet franchise recognized as The Most Recommended Piano Stores in Southern California.

“After 23 years with us, Jeff Bauer is the perfect addition for taking on some of Jeff Falgien’s duties, and for bringing some new elements into the fold; both Bauer and Falgien have been dedicated to sales, service, and support excellence,” Hagerty said. “And, to make the transition easier, I get to keep using the same first name.”
