KORG celebrated its tenth Brew Music event in Los Angeles, California, partnering with popular music shop, Perfect Circuit, and high-end music tech brand, ROLI. Both brands hosted the growing synthesizer movement at Arts District Brewing, located in L.A.’s premier Arts District center, a downtown region for budding and aspiring artists of all styles. KORG displayed their wide array of trendy synthesizers ranging from the beloved analog series of monologue, minilogue and prologue, to classic favorites such as the MS-20 Mini and MicroKORG. The new volca nubass, which was released earlier this spring, was featured at the event, as well as the volca modular and volca drum, two incredible additions that made waves earlier this year during their Winter NAMM release. The minilogue xd, as well as the minilogue xd desktop model, were also big hits at the recent event.
One of the energetic Brew Music attendees got on camera to talk about the minilogue xd module, stating: “I just love the ease of use of the minilogue xd module, it’s easy to get around the filters and I love the resonance on everything. If you like subtractive synthesis, this is the perfect piece of hardware.”
ROLI served as a special guest for the event, displaying some of their most widespread gear including the Songmaker Kit, featuring the Lightpad M, Seaboard and Loop Block. This kit in particular played a major role in a recent collaboration with KORG, showcasing how well the kit coincides with the KRONOS, notably its multi-effects engine.
New York City based composer Juan Dussán, who created a series of tutorial and performance videos for the KRONOS and Songmaker kit, showed his support and attended the L.A. Brew Music. “This event is really cool. Everyone gets to hang out, have a beer, play some synths and you can tell everyone here is so invested in the products; it’s just such a good vibe and I wish I could attend more. They’re just fantastic,” Dussán says.
KORG’s next Brew Music event will take place on October 24, 2019 at Lagunitas Brewery in Seattle.
