OMG Music Launches Free Mask Initiative for Music Retailers

Christian Wissmuller • Supplier Scene • April 7, 2020

In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep MI retailers healthy, OMG Music has launched a free mask initiative. MI stores can email info@henryhellermusic.com to put in a request for masks for their employees.

“Our goal is to provide music stores and their employees personal mask protection so that they can stay safe and healthy while concentrating on getting back to providing the wonderful gift of music to our local communities and schools,” reads a statement from OMG Music. “The design of the mask was inspired by Suay Sew Shop in Los Angeles, who tested materials for mask making and found that by using blue shop towels, they could make a mask that could block up to 95 percent of the particles they could test, while cotton masks only blocked 20 percent to 60 percent.”

Right now, OMG Music asks stores request one mask per employee. Stores don’t have to be a current OMG Music dealer to request masks – these are available to anyone in the U.S. music retail industry.
