Farida Parlor Guitars Now Available in North America

Christian Wissmuller • MMR GlobalUpfront • August 21, 2019

Farida Guitar & Ukulele has expanded its popular Old Town Series of acoustic guitars with the 10 Series, a line of parlor size instruments. The 10 Series, which was unveiled earlier this year at the 2019 Anaheim NAMM Show, is now available to North American dealers. These guitars all feature sunburst finished solid Sitka spruce tops and vintage-inspired appointments. The new models are:

OT-12 — Laminated mahogany back and sides

OT-15 — Solid mahogany back and sides

OT-16 — Solid pau ferro back and sides

These guitars are built with the same level of fit and finish as Farida’s 20 Series (00-size) and 60 Series (dreadnought size) instruments, but offer a more intimate playing experience. Appointments include a tortoise plastic pickguard, ivoroid ABS binding, and 3-on-a-plate open gear “arrowhead” tuners. All Farida Old Town Series instruments are built using CITES-free materials, making them ideal for international travel.

An established brand in the UK and Asia, Farida is making its first move into the North American market with the Old Town Series. Sidestreet Distributing of Lansing, Mich., is the exclusive distributor of Farida guitars and ukuleles in the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to its Old Town Series guitars, Farida offers a lineup of well crafted standard size ukuleles. Inspired by classic designs and built using cutting edge techniques, these ukuleles offer an impressive level of fit and finish at an affordable price.
