Hal Leonard Expands Digital Licensing with Creation of New Role

Christian Wissmuller • People • May 5, 2022
Hal Leonard has announced that it has promoted Shari Molstad to a newly-created position of Digital Licensing Manager. This new role will focus on the ever-expanding digital marketplace and Hal Leonard’s widening position in providing rights and content to its network of music tech partners and digital retailers. Molstad will oversee the administration of rights and approvals relating to the company’s third-party relationships.
Molstad has been with Hal Leonard for nearly 19 years and was their Permissions Manager prior to this promotion.
“Shari is a natural fit for this position due to her deep knowledge of our rights catalog and her strong technical skills and understanding,” said Nancy Ubick, Hal Leonard’s Vice President of Business Affairs. “The huge growth of our digital business led us to create a dedicated position to focus on developing even more content and programs.”
Hal Leonard is the parent company of Sheet Music Direct, one of the largest providers of digital-direct sheet music, and ArrangeMe.com, which allows musicians to legally sell their own arrangements of popular songs. Those sites alone represent over a million digital items.
