UK Drum start-up The British Drum Company, has appointed former Peavey exec Dave Hunt as its worldwide sales representative.
Hunt previously spent 11 years with Peavey UK prior to the closure of the firm’s European HQ in Corby earlier this year, and will be responsible for all sales and marketing via his company Silent C Music.
British Drum Company was founded earlier this year and offiicially launched at the recent London Drum Show by master drum maker Keith Keough; Kasabian drummer Ian Matthews; military marching drummer and co-founder of the Highwaymen Drum Corps, Stu Warmington; product designer Alan Kitching; and comedian and drum enthusiast Al Murray.
The company says it will use only British-made shells in its manufacturing process, with handcrafted kits and marching drums at the heart of the product range.
Commenting on Hunt’s appointment, Keith Keough said: “In our search for the right partner in sales, it was paramount that we found someone who understood the industry, and shared our passion for great quality, British made drums. Dave is highly experienced in many areas of the industry spanning some 25 years and he has always maintained a strong connection to the drum industry and as a player.”
“Keith has assembled a great team of people,” added Dave Hunt, “and their commitment to producing great quality drums in the UK, and to market them through a network of professional dealers really made this a no-brainer for me. I am looking forward to getting on with putting the British Drum Company on the map and with the support of the dealers, I am confident we can make this a huge success.”
