Carlsbro has added two new guitar amplifiers to its range, debuting them at the recent NAMM show.
A new entry model in the acoustic amp series – the Sherwood 10 – has already shipped and the Stingray D10, shown for the first time anywhere and described by the firm as “a classic British high gain input” digital modelling guitar amplifier, is scheduled to ship in the second quarter of this year.
The Sherwood is a 10W, ultra compact combo with a 6.5” full range speaker; it features a single jack guitar input, three-band EQ and a 35mm audio input/headphone output. The Stingray D10, meanwhile, is a 10W portable, digital modelling stereo combo. With a compact footprint and weighing less than 3.5kg, it features eight different amplifier models, including Clean, Acoustic, and Classic British High Gain, as well as a three-band EQ and an effects engine and delay/reverb control.
When connected to a PC, modelling sounds can be adjusted with the supplied software. Stereo sound is provided by a class-D power amplifier and 2x 2-inch speakers. Rechargeable integrated Lithium batteries provide up to eight hours mains free operation and subtle ‘valve glow’ simulation to indicate the amp is on.
Also making its debut at NAMM was the Studiomaster digiLiVE 16R – an ultra-compact variant of the new Studiomaster digiLiVE 16 hybrid concept micro-mixer (featuring simultaneous remote tablet and hardware surface control). The digiLiVE16R provides the same internal features, I/O and buss specifications as the digiLiVE 16 in a compact rackmount unit, fully controllable, via Wi-Fi, from an iPad.
The digiLiVE 16R offers 16 input –16-bus – eight output configuration DSP technology including 40-bit floating point on 4th generation SHARC processing and proprietary mix algorithms for EQ, dynamics and FX. 12 XLR mic input channels, 24 bit / 192 kHz AD /DA conversion, and up to eight internal effects busses – with reverb, delay, 15 band EQ and modulation – are also included.
The eight ‘smart’ XLR analogue outputs are assignable. Outputs also include digital AES/EBU and SPDIF. AUSB interface supports playback and recording, scene storage and system updating.
