Celebrating 60 years of guitar building, iconic guitar manufacturer Danelectro has added four new models to its range.
The 64 is a reverential nod towards one of the classic guitar designs of the 1960’s. Featuring a solid reversed, double-cutaway, offset horn Agathis body, The 64 sports a licensed Bigsby Tremolo system, with a vintage style neck single coil and a dual humbucking Lipstick bridge pickup. The simple master volume and master tone rotary controls and three-way switch layout also houses a push/pull switch on the tone to split the bridge pickup. It is available in Dark Aqua, Vintage White, Indigo, Metallic Orange, Candy Apple Red and Three Tone Sunburst (all £999 UK)
The new 59M Spruce uses the classic Danelectro ’59 shorthorn shape and pairs it with a Spruce soundboard with offset sound hole. Awesome tones abound from the usual pair of Lipstick single coil pickups and the fully adjustable wraparound bridge provides superb tuning and intonation whilst retaining the iconic Danelectro twang. Available in White Pearl with a choice of Blue, Red or Black ‘Seal’ scratchplates or Black Pearl, Buttercup and Chianti the DC59M has a UK of £599.
Meanwhile, the 59 Resonator combines a specially designed piezo pickup in the cone with a traditional ’56 Lipstick pickup at the neck, the 59 Resonator again uses the ’59 Shorthorn shape with a hollow body and features master volume, master tone and pickup blend controls for the perfect mix of electric and acoustic tones. Available in a choice of Black or Tobacco Sunburst the 59 Resonator has a UK price of £779.
Finally, the 59DC Long Scale Bass (£499) combines all the classic Danlectro tones and playability into a 34” scale length body. With a fully adjustable bridge and a pair of high impedance, high output Lipstick pickups the 59DC bass is available in Black or Copper Burst.
