Drummer Marko Djordjevic will appear in the Education Zone at the London Drum Show 2016 in association with Natal Drums.
Serbian born Marko Djordjevic took up drums at the age of 11 and was swiftly was regarded as a child prodigy, Marko wowed audiences during late-night jam sessions with Belgrade’s top jazz musicians, and performances as a member of Belgrade Youth Symphony, as well as the rock band Illusion. Marko joined Berklee College of Music, where he was accepted on a scholarship at the tender age of 16. In 1991, he won the prestigious Berklee Zildjian award, and graduated with honours in 1993.
He has since contributed to over 40 albums and has thousands of live performances to his credit including; Wayne Krantz, Rick Margitza, Matt Garrison, Chris McDermott, Monochrome and reggae legends Ziggy Marley and The Wailers.
Blue Note recording artist Lionel Loueke says: “Marko is one of the greatest drummers out there. He possesses incredible technique, and a musical mind to match it! I love playing with him because he is so creative and unique!”
He is currently focusing much of his energy on his own group SVETI, as the composer, he writes music inspired by the rich musical tradition of his Balkan roots, but with a nod to the “Western” artists who have influenced him.
The London Drum Show takes place at Olympia London on 12th and 13th November 2016.
